Extra Mile Design created a postcard
based on the Ipswich
Library's web site (also designed by EMD), which got
inserted into the gas bills of everyone in town.
 Extra Mile Design
worked with the Joshua Hyde Library in Sturbridge,
MA, to promote and coordinate events in seven towns
in mid-Massachusetts in their "One
Book, One Community" project.

Extra Mile Design clients win top awards at MLA
Public Relations competition
May 22, 2005/Pepperell, Mass - The work of Extra
Mile Design, an agency specializing in marketing
and communications for libraries, was honored
with two awards by the Massachusetts Library Association
at the 17th Biennial Public Relations competition.
Winners were chosen by a panel of independent judges
from the public relations, press, and library fields.
Over 120 entries were submitted in 16 categories
Extra Mile Design's work with the Ipswich
Public Library on a campaign to promote the library's web-based
resources received first prize in the "Advertising" category.
Extra Mile's coordination of a community-wide reading
project and the development of a comprehensive marketing
program earned top honors for the Joshua
Hyde Public Library in the "Events" category.
"We are delighted to have contributed to these
successes. Our public libraries bring such important
lifelong learning opportunities and educational support
to our communities that we feel it is a great privilege
to be able to help them get the word out." said
Susan Edwards, the principal of Extra Mile Design,
and a former librarian herself.
