Rupununi Learners

The Rupununi Learners Foundation is building a library in the small town of Yupukari, in western Guyana.

Yupukari is an area where the schools typically have just one book. No maps, no posters, no "manipulatives," nothing but one book and a blackboard for all grades.

The web site will be used for following the progress of building the library, for fund-raising and soliciting books, for posting information about the Makushi Indians and their language, and eventually for selling local products over the Internet.
